When selecting blinds, there are three types of fabrics that are available. Each of them has its own and unique properties and benefits depending on your requirement.

Sunscreen fabrics give you an uninterrupted view through the blind while enabling natural light to enter your room. With a high degree of eye comfort, they also provide protection from the summer heat, reducing the chances of UV rays entering your room that causes fading of furnishings and furniture. These fabrics are suitable in living spaces where privacy at night is of no concern due to the fact that since it is not possible to see into the room from outside during the day, at night the effect is reversed. This product is extremely durable and can be easily cleaned with a damp sponge.

Translucent fabrics also provide privacy and allow an elegant and soft amount of light to enter the room. They are best suited to living spaces and can compliment your furnishings efficiently whilst maintaining a degree of heat both within and out of the room. Another feature is that you cannot see through a Translucent Blind in either direction.

Room darkening fabrics are perhaps the best known amongst its fellow counterparts. This is because they provide an effective amount of light block and are better equipped in terms of controlling the temperature. Most of these fabrics have a white flocke backing which adds to their insulation properties. They are ideal for bedrooms.

Where the desired effect is to provide room darkening or privacy at night and screening during the day, two Roller Blinds can be assembled into a dual bracket system. A chain is required to operate each blind separately. In circumstances where blinds are undesirable, Roller blinds can be motorized using the domestic 240v power supply. However please keep in mind that the services of a qualified electrician are needed to install the wiring.
